In 1999, The Co-operators formed a partnership with the Infant and Toddler Safety Association (ITSA) to provide car seat education in the form of free car seat safety clinics for parents and caregivers across Canada. We felt compelled to take action since, on average, three out of every four car seats are improperly installed. Through this partnership, we continue to provide education and hands-on support for car seat safety across Canada.
Many of our Co-operators agents and offices across Canada are involved in our award-winning Buckle Up Bears program. This program offers free car seat inspection clinics periodically throughout the year to increase awareness of car seat safety in their communities.
Since the program’s inception, we’ve distributed over one million growth charts with car seat safety information and held over 600 clinics at which we’ve inspected over 10,000 seats.
